I am in need of new bindings for a couple of pairs of snowshoes. I want something that is easy on and off and no plastic buckles/clips. Bob Maki style would be great.

Could make your own with some heavy inner tube rubber and cord.

Maki styles are great.I've used them alot up here

I got the ones they said the state used in Maine, I think they are the best I've ever used

bike inner tube put your boot on the shoe , tie down the toe , make a few extra passes around the toe cord then tie behind the heel easy off easy on

carry a spare in your pocket easily

hands free is the way to go step on the shoe with opposite foot put heel in the strap pull back and slip toe in , repeat for second shoe same thing to get out

I make mine out of a truck innertube easy on easy off, The pattern was in an Outdoor Life magazine years ago.

Thanks for the replies. While looking at one of the links provided, I found another for the "Lamp Wick" binding. http://www.bensbackwoods.com/lamp-wick-snowshoe-bindings-3-4-lampwick-16/ Made a set with some Black 1" web strap that I had on hand. Looking forward to trying them out tomorrow.

Anybody sell a ratchet type replacement style bindings for the newer metal type snowshoes?

I have used the Bob Maki bindings for a couple decades. They hold up well and are not too hard to get on and off. I keep my shoes in the basement during the winter when I use them as the bindings sure stretch easier warm then cold.

I do the same. I have them in two different sizes for two different boots. One for warmer weather and one for really cold stuff. I like them because they are somewhat rigid and you can twist and turn your snowshoes without them flopping all over the place.
