Actually I night latch everything just tweaking some old steel getting ready for next year

Keep your fingers under the jaws next time when testing and you won't have that issue

This is what I was going to say. Lift the loose jaw and test that way, it’s much easier on your fingers!

The start of every season I just go ahead and put my hand in one. I look at this way, if I don’t get caught after the first week or so I start thinking about getting caught and then get caught. So I say the heck with it and get it out of the way. If you’re tired it will wake you up. If you’re hurting somewhere it will take that hurt away. Sorta a win/win situation.

You needed to be a lot slower or faster......either way would have let your fingernail to clear
