They went through such a big list of bird names for towns,,they had to resort name one CHICKEN? The story goes that years back when they were trying to name the town..........the locals wanted to call it Ptarmigan but no one could spell it........so they decided on Chicken instead LOL

This Global Warming you hear so much about is getting out of hand up North here....! Pete Looks like temps when my brother in law was stationed up in Alaska(Mid 80s I think) and the temps were -60 for a very long stretch. He said everything was freezing up.Block heaters were a must,,and a lot of folks just tried to keep their vehicles running.

Makes my fingers and feet hurt just reading it! Brad, I am betting that even one night that low in a feed yard or back grounding pens and everything would hurt by the time you figured out how to get everybody water and fčed. Unless you have been through it I doubt a man can fathom the horror of nothing workin and a couple hours worth of chores taking 16 hours

Pete be careful I am told passing stones isn't as much fun as it sounds like so I am guessing that passing ice vibes would be just as bad or worse!

its nice when the snow squeeks when you walk and your nostrils stick together momentarily when breathing in.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Trucks sold surplus from the pipeline had a few miles but tons of idle hours since they ran 24/7 all winter.
I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!
