The goal is not any target temp. The goal is simply control over you and me.

I hope the dinosaurs come back. Alligator is good and aren't they a dinosaur? I bet Trex would be more fun than a grizzly bear hunt. When I was in school and all the experts were telling us another ice age would soon be upon us I thought a wooly mammoth would be fun. It seems our ancestors liked to eat them. I cant imagine hunting them with a sharp rock tied to a stick if the meat wasn't real tasty.

The real question is, why are they setting goals for global temperature when they are battling "climate change"?
They stopped calling their crusade "Global Warming" due a number of factors. 1) They got busted for fudging data. 2) It ain't happening at a rate higher than what is normal for the past 1,000 years.
They adopted the phrase "Climate Change" because they couldn't prove global warming, and because that phrase is immune to criticism. Of course the climate is changing. Hard to argue against that meaningless phrase.

The weather is changing but itís not our fault or in our control. All the rules and regulations for climate change are to make us weaker and more dependent.

You'll have to choose Danny... General concensus is that the world was warmer in the time of the dinosaurs. And obviously colder during the time of the mammoth.

I wonder what a stretched and dried mammoth hide would bring in today's market... $7 to $8 maybe. But I bet you could make a lot of boots and bags out of tanned T-Rex leather.

Not sure I'd want to try and trap either one... I'd break the frame on my truck toting one appropriate size longspring.

Maybe a .50 BMG... Get Nosler to make a BIG Partition for it

Cyclone activity is much less now than it was 90 years ago. The hurricanes in the 1930ís were terrible. I believe the 1950ís were close to the 30ís but donít quote me on that. If youíre talking dollars worth of damage by natural disasters like fire, drought or storms itís more now because there are lots more people then there was 100 years ago. Headlines that read ďMost Costly Storm EverĒ are never put into prospective. People just read them and think the world is ending. I believe man can make a mess of the environment but change the climate is a solid No.

They are planting a solar farm near here which is taking up 3 or 4 thousand acres. They have engulfed a few farm houses with their all look alike scenery. Much of it was marginal farm land, still farmland that did produce food and oxygen. Looks like they are leaving a margin along the highways, hopefully for planting tree or bushes to block the wonderful view of their man made green project. Where is Lady Bird Johnson when we need her ?

I came across something interesting while researching southern honey plants.

It seems "global warming" and rising sea levels are driving mangroves out of south Florida and into the northern Gulf Coast.

Some mangroves popped up in Pensacola, nine of them to be exact. So a bunch of money was spent to set up an extensive research project to determine why global warming did this and the impacts of shifting tropical species on the native cord grass salt marsh.

Then all the mangroves froze to death.

All I know is I'm getting sick of these warmer weather trends we've had in my neck of the woods.
The last ten years it's been getting warmer and warmer.
I miss the winter weather. We get months on end now of mud and freeze/thaw, rain, snow up and down weather.
Used to be winter arrived with snow and freezing temps about November and let up about middle of March.
Now we're lucky to get 6 to 7 weeks of uninterrupted winter.

Why is everything getting warmer? Heck I don't know but I bet it isn't cow farts

I am certainly no scientist but my uneducated opinion is that the earth has never stopped having climate change. Ice ages to perpetual summer and then back again.

Northern Kansas has glacial till. I would say we've warmed up considerably since that was deposited. How did we get rid of the glaciers before Frank Phillips got rich producing and refining crude oil. It must have been climate change. LOL. Don't tell the wokesters! There aren't enough safe spaces to handle the triggering that would occur.

We did have more snow and it WAS colder when I was a kid. Not as cold as in 10,000 BC . Temperature is not static. The BIG question is: are we humans effecting weather? I think its possible. I also think its unlikely we are effecting it in a significant fashion.

That's a fact. In 1956 the snow depth was over my head, and now it's just over knee high.

Some of the old timers used to talk about sand drifts instead of snow drifts relative to the 1930's. Still my question is did the farming practices cause the drought or did the drought just compound the faulty farming practices.

The big weather factors my mom and dad always talked about was the drought in '36 and the flood in '37.

I remember commuting to work in the early 70s. I crossed over the mouth of a city lake. It was frozen solid for 8-10 weeks. Now it doesn't freeze over at all.

No Kidding, everyone was scared of a NEW ICE AGE coming in the 1970s because of the cold weather trends. Turns out that was all political too.

People talk like this global warming and co2 is a bad thing, I am pretty sure its what is contributing to the increased yields in crops needed to feed the ever increasing population.

Hey on the bright side it beats the ice age we were supposed to have back in the 70s and 80s. Really dodged a bullet on that one.

Go back through Time Magazine's apocalyptic covers and you'll find about every conceivable doomsday scenario spawned by the mind of man. They're consistent in their doomsdayism and need for Americans to yield some of their rights in order to save the planet.

Besides Charles, in 3 pages, everyone agrees that this is all a bunch of malarkey. So where is this majority of believers the leftist media keeps claiming are out there? I only know two personally out of a huge number of people.

While 75 years represents a significantly lengthy amount of time for someone to remain ignorant, it represents a minuscule amount of time when discussing the entire world's climate history.

The charlie syndrome, Iíll call it, is very prevalent in the case of where people live and how close they are to cities, especially blue states. It also has to do with their length of time spent in university's. Those who believe this bunk also normally donít follow any religious faith. I say these things because, people I know and have known in my lifetime, follow these guidelines, also people I know on tman, that lean left also follow these lines. Now there will be a few that disclaim this, but these are things Iíve noticed in my almost 75 years on this ball, and Iíve never seen snow to my belly button, unless I broke through a very deep drift!

Every time this global warming / climate change jazz comes up I always think of AlGore's (one word) doomsday clock.
That and overpopulation, mass starvation, resource depletion, mass extinction and a few more...

Some years ago for giggles I did a calculation. I took 160 years which I figure is the time we have had truly accurate thermometers and divided out against the 5.5 billion year life of this planet. Then converted that to time years /seconds. I came up with 160 years being .0000007 of a second in the lifetime of the earth. From this we know what things should be? Takes longer to blink your eye. Iím not Einstein on math so there is that.

I lived in Minnesota during the great ice age scare of the seventies and at that time there was a snowmobile race that started the Mpls St. Paul winter carnival. They raced for years from Winnipeg to St. Paul. It came along our property. As I read the chilling news that we were looking at a frozen doom the schools and media were teaching I was standing outside in tennis shoes and lite jacket on a foggy morning waiting for racers to go by maybe from white patch to white patch? Nope the thaw and warm closed the race. After two years of cancellation they abolished the race.

I built one of my homes in 91. I think it was that year we had 30 some inches of snow Halloween night?

Donít waste time questioning mother earth. She has her ways.
