A bill introducing the ban of snares in Virginia was introduced yesterday. We had an idea it was coming, just not this fast. It came from the Senate and not the delegate that we were informed was pushing this.

We are in need of volunteers to join the committees to fight these two bills. If these two bills pass, trapping is essentially over in Virginia. We need to fight this with everything we can muster.

There are several stages to get a bill passed. It is easier to get the bill stopped in the earliest stage. Good luck!

With a Republican governor and Republican majority in the House of Delegates effective today, hopefully this will go nowhere, but that's no reason to be complacent. As was mentioned it is easier to stop an attack early in the process. I'm sure those pushing this recognize that also and maybe that is why it was introduced in the still Democrat majority Senate instead of the House.

Hopefully these bills will die quickly.

The Virginia state senate (slight democrat majority) are butt hurt from recently losing the governorship and the house of delegates to republicans. This will go nowhere. It won't even make it through the senate. Too risky with elections coming up in 2023 (we vote on the odd years).
