Last pic could use a bit more camo How would have you done it ? I was stitting on that log really racking my brain. Was thing about digging up a weed clump mabye and stuffing it in in the right side by the root ball and letting it trap over the top some but was thinking that would be a bit too much

I wouldnt worry about camoing the trap.I would be more concerned the beaver will go around the trap. Make your lured sets at an indentation in the bank,or use a few lopped off sticks to line him up.The opening where the trap is should be the path of least resistance for the beaver. No camo needed.A stick angled over the trap will discourage a big beaver from trying to flatten the trap.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

I'm no expert by any means, but this is what I adhere to. I also agree, if you're trying to rid a particular area of the foes, sometimes you have to get creative.
Act like a blank, get treated like a blank. Insert your own blank!

NO CAMO needed. Blocking the edges of the approach Is important but leave the trap opening clear. And don't over do this blocking. That set at the root ball Is about perfect. A touch of castor on that log will do the trick.

I like the third set the most due to chosen set location. It’s angled, and in my mind is the kind of set a beaver can just continue gliding right into. I like that set the most out of your 3. If there are beaver there that haven’t been messed with, you could probably catch at any of those sets. If they’ve been messed with, I would stick to the 3rd set as well as channel sets.
I do at times heavily blend traps with vegetation, but it’s more than likely going to be a blind set in place that is already vegetated and they’re traveling. Shallow runs, drains near grassy crossovers, etc. If there is a levee crossover being used but I would like a little blocking or blending, I’ll uproot rice or other grass clumps to conceal it/lightly block it. It’s not to force but to suggest and conceal.
I tend to use what’s naturally there when it comes to vegetation. Dive sticks and such move around all the time, so I’ll use them anywhere I need to without hesitation.
It is my opinion that where you choose to make sets (natural or created) is one of the most important decisions you’ll make.
