Grabbed one random hanger of coyotes and all the fox I have. Going to the buyer GFW tomorrow and see what they offer. I am taking coyotes from the end of November. Fox were spread out from November to December. I will try post what they offered tomorrow night. Let’s see who can guess the average on coyotes and foxes. This is a straight run of coyotes and no cherry-picking. Sorted the coyotes to color. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/01/full-26042-122801-66d4da08_f757_4541_85f9_d7f03bb22ea7.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/01/full-26042-122802-c5fa07f2_d8f1_435e_88e2_4d795993e43c.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/01/full-26042-122803-991eea20_b701_473e_8e0f_7d168b234a09.jpeg) I never washed any of the fur. Gave them a quick rub with borax and a good brushing.

Guessing 42 avg. on yokes, and 16 on fox. That's some great looking fur, and deserves much better than current market price. Best of luck its higher than that.

Didn’t you get the email from the people helping GFW tomorrow? They said coyotes will avg $35-45 for the TOP 3 Grades. A month ago they said we’d be looking at $70 avg’s. The absolute best thing about tomorrow is that Xtreme Range Outfitters ( the place holding the fur buying) is also a FHA depot. I’m imagining there’s going to lots of (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) off trappers who’ll be saying NO to GFW and be walking to the other side of the store and sending their stuff to the auction. Yep! Poor groenys out of other peoples yuans.

Well see how many guys keep trapping coyotes for money like that or lack of. Saskatchewan has some of the best coyotes in the world my will go to FHA at least competitive bidding only thing her we don't have pick up other option for me is Colorado Auction but will have to see. My fur last year did very well at FHA especially cats and was surprised at my coyotes since I had mostly semi heavy. Did they grade those at all or just nose count. Last year is past history, This year is all that that counts with this year's fur. Again since November the word has been "lower" prices, "50-60% off last year," "no demand for anything but heavy pales", and here we are January, and everyone is surprised at the market. Very few routes being run, record amounts of buyers out of the game, and those still in it are "thieves". All the information available at ones fingertips but most have their fingers up their butts apparently!

Here it is
12 coyotes $580 Canadian $48.30 average American $462.23 average $38.52
5 fox $45 Canadian $9 average American $35.86 average $7.17
Only saw 2 guys at the buyers but I was early. Guy in front of me had 8 decent coyotes- he sold for $22 Canadian average. Guy behind me had beaver and castor. They said they were paying $100 Canadian for castor which works out to $79.69 American
Needless to say they didn’t get anything from me. I believe they are buying on speculation and I would offer the same if I was buying and hope you could make some money on them.
I believe other markets or auction will do better. Time will tell Good decision in keeping. I’d have done the same..

Interesting that FHA is not giving out any advances of coyotes this year......that should tell you something about the bottom line and where it is at for western heavys. They dropped that a couple years ago for all fur far as I know. Here anyway.

I dont think hes far off on the real value of those coyotes if sold in graded lots at the auction.

If I were you I would move to that offer pretty fast. There are 300,000 tanned coyote they can't sell for that or $30 less. Some could be yours from last year.

Private buyer I’ve sold to for the last 8 years. Usually took 100 I had to add an extra ten to make the deal. Made money at the auctions, country buyers and private sales in the last bunch of years……..it’s coming to an end. How did your sale go?

Our sale is next weekend. Some here think they will see $100 averages yet, but the offer you turned down is more in line with what I figure. Like I said I would be moving for that offer, it may not last forever. Coming to a end is right.

I think the story is coyotes can't get to china and consumers can't buy coats, right now. As somebody who has had his product separated from his consumers for two years due to the rona non-sense this has led to more demand. It's pent- up demand.

I don't know on the price, but that is some nice looking fur. Whatever the top prices are on coyotes and fox, you should get it. Good luck.

They just usually give us the one avg of all combined. What a difference a year makes that's for sure.

If I got heavies I'm somewhat with the Canadians. Historically, in the worse coyote markets, heavies didn't average under $20 at Auction the last 25 years. Few years they averaged under $30. Not a lot of downside potential there. The first Auction scares me a bit. I'm going watch that one from the sidelines.

$34 on the stink dogs $10 on the little stink dogs! I saw this and new you would be close. I didn’t like it! Lol Some people just have a lot of experience when it comes to fur markets! What’s that Colorado sale look like? We would take them for sure. But dont expect any miracles. I would say this. If I had better high quality coyotes, I would wait. I think that is sound advice.

I don't know, in this market sometimes the first loss is the smallest if that makes sense.
Too many quality coyotes being sold at quite a discount from last year's levels to allow the Canadian auction to set levels higher than expecte IMHO. I'm not saying they will go higher. If buyers are paying $35 for heavies, they are not going to resale them for less. So end users are going to have to pay $35 plus to get coyotes from buyers. The floor is $35 plus. In theory the Auction won't sell them for less than $35 plus There is little down side potential. Might as well gamble for more. IMHO
