Rusty old 2001 Suburban with 244,000+ miles. Totaled it in 2019 when an 84 year old woman turned directly in front of me. Turned her car into yard art. Got a high insurance value for it and bought it back for $500. Son put $250 in parts into it, straightened the front bumper by chaining it to a big pine and putting it into reverse, and it still runs like a top.

It's ugly, lots of miles, beat up, broken in some places but just keeps on going...like me.

Paul ! I think you forgot about one more gasket, between the steering wheel and the seat!?[/quote]

You're right Kosoi, that old gasket is worn out - grin.

My daily driver is a '14 Jeep Patriot. Enough zip to get where I'm going for work but sips gas. 27.1 mpg @ 60 mph coming home today.

The '02 Tacoma has 280,000 or so on it and has been relegated to hauling firewood, lumber, and general chore work. Only gets about 17-19 mpg. Had to put a little work into at after 250k but for the years, mileage, and abuse it was minimal cost. Reliability has been astounding.

VH60 you may get more than you paid for that truck. My 2014 F150 has 196,000 miles on it, I will turn it into average miles only putting 5,000 miles a year on it. The original owner put 172,000 on it in 4 years, no problems so far, a 3.6 in it.

Fishdog , the best offer from a dealer is $48,000 . The sticker on it was $52,000 . I had a spray in Bed liner applied , I did a ceramic coating , Fluid filmed the underside twice and have the ARE fiberglass bed topper with flip out side windows and flip down front window (all aftermarket) If I don't sell it privately I'm taking a beating on it . It was ordered from the factory and picked up in April 2021 . One of the last ones made to order before Ford shut down production .

It will periodically and unpredictably not respond to the accelerator . You step on the gas to pull out , change lanes etc and it hits a dead zone / spot . The engine does not whine /increase rpm (not stuck between gears or anything) and it does not stall , it just hits a dead zone . Nothing , no response . Sometimes it will catch and start bucking . Next , the transmission periodically shifts VERY HARD . It slams into gear , gets stuck between gears and in general does not shift properly . It also seems to get stuck in 7th gear before a very hard shift into 8th . Always while going up an incline or when its under a hard load . Its been to the dealer three times for the same problem and they can't find the issue . The problem is that it doesn't do it all the time . You can drive it for a week and its handles like it is supposed to and then it started having problems . I was told by the dealer and some local mechanics that the transmission goes through some kind of learning process and that it will smooth out between 5000 and 10000 miles . It has been good for the last two weeks or so but I'm now fed up and don't trust it .

took this picture just now. I put a winch on it. Its no asphalt only machine. You can see it looks like a jeep is supposed to now. So far I like it. Pretty sure footed and turns reasonably short. I speced it out on the jeep website. Had a hard time finding a dealer that would order it for me. I don't think they make as much money if you do that. Window sticker says Built for Danny Clifton which I thought was pretty cool.
