You must have a keg of Starter on hand! Whose recipe do you use for the actual making &baking? :-)

LOL, besides your beans, I also have a loaf of sourdough in the oven. Trying out a sandwich loaf recipe today. https://anoregoncottage.com/soft-so...F471mjZKyCC_lYmP4vBomiIuXg7ykCZu8#recipe

Used this guys recipe….but I doubled it. Plus I added 80 grams of Rye flour to it…then 720 grams of Bread flour.

And used 225 grams of my starter.

All I have for starter is a quart ..Ball canning jar…that’s it.

We got some mail-order sourdough starter and it's on day 4 today. I figger a couple more days there'll be enough to bake a loaf.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

Just took mine out of oven about 1 hr. ago using Kent's recipe for Starter. Certainly not as purty as yours but hopefully it will taste good. I usually make biscuits. Tomorrow a.m. will be pancakes with leftover Starter laugh

You're an inspiration, Nessie! Just told my wife this morning that we ought to get back into baking bread!

Moosy …you have to try the sourdough …plenty of you tube stuff out there. Once you get your starter going ( about 10 days ) …it’s a very flavorful bread. You make sourdough one day….and bake it the next day. It’s a long slow process…but enjoyable. I’ve made 5 loafs so Faah…and they get bettah each time.

I already love Sourdough! When Wonderful Wife and I travel there are a number of bakeries we hit whenever we get neah. Several of them make Sourdough bread and rolls. Few things bettah in this world than sitting down with a fresh loaf with a good crust and a couple sticks of buttah! We toast it and put on homemade jam or we use it with good bacon for BLT's.

Maybe it's time we learn to make our own, eh?
