Have any of y'all have to send in the jaw of your otter?

For the DNR.

That's what the message sounded like to me when I registered, if you got a letter, they want your jaw(s). I did not receive a letter.

That does suck. My first otter was when they still collected a lower jaw from everyone. That was a big otter, wish I had the entire lower jaw to go with the skull.

I am a novice when it comes to otter trapping. Of the 4 I have caught, 3 have been in classic bottom edge sets, an undercut point in a small creek set with a 330. The other was in the fast part of a channel, blocked down pretty heavy, in an area with a ton of sign. All in 330s, tuned to be pretty fast.

Came close to my 2nd otter today. Had a pair play around my deep current sets. They ran all over the ice, couldn't find where they went in the water. I'll look more tomorrow.

I pulled 2 more raccoons out of a place I get to turkey hunt in return for raccoon trapping. Seems last night's warm up got them moving a bit.
