Very nice 7x7 with alot of tine length. The skull is really bright for being 50 yrs old.

Great to see that, I appreciate people like that. Just makes you wonder how many deer racks that were lost to people who didn't want/are and just tossed them out. Nice to see also that PA accepted it was a record. I buy antler from time to time or I find some in the woods... And I usually buy the biggest and nicest I can find. People always ask what I'm going to do with them. The look on some of their faces when I tell them I'm going to cut them up and use them for projects or turn them on the lathe... Hilarious. I just view antler as something practical that I can utilize. Mike

Ok, I'm glad I read the article and saw the photo was of the replica made of the original because it doesn't look like a skull that had been sitting around in a garage or a barn for 50 years. And it obviously hasn't with Bass Pro Shop having it for x number of years, along with other owners.

I think there are a lot of large potentially record deer in basements and garages around. I know several guys who have antlers most hunters only dream about. These guys don't do taxidermy because they don't want the spotlight that comes with being a great deer hunter plus they don't want to draw attention to where they hunt. The continue on with the normal jobs and only smile when someone claims to be a great deer hunter but go into their Man Cave and WOW!
