they seem to know right when season starts and if your on public land

got busted by hens that act as a look out hundred yards or more from the tom

they seem stupid when nothing is after them but they seem to catch on in the spring by 3rd week of season.

they don't care how much of a looker you are when season isn't on but they catch on quick when the first couple get dead.

the farm raised pheasants are just dumb coming off the truck, but if they live a week they get a lot smarter of course then they are also a very small minority that lived a week.

There are starting to be a lot of wild turkeys in many neighborhoods in Ohio, especially around Cincinnati. They have absolutely no fear of people and beg food from anyone they see in some neighborhoods. They go on roofs, walk into open garages and scratch up vehicles.

Our winter time turkeys act the same way. I can whistle up a flock fairly easy during deer season wearing orange. I blink in the Spring in full camo and they spot me from 100 yards away.

What I hate deer hunting are squirrels. Amazing how a squirrel can sound like a deer walking in leaves.

I don't live in Cincinnati so those turkeys don't bother me. Ohio should extend the hunting season on wild turkeys.
