I caught a mouse in my deer blind and threw it in front of the camera to see what might stop by and grab it.

These are the only pics I got....

Deer eat lots of easy to kill prey and carrion too. There's a video online of deer eating human remains at a research site.

Elk eat rabbits too.

I have watched a deer eat fox squirrels.

Every time I put a new carcass out for yote bait these nosy girls show up to investigate. Last year I had a small buck that would lick every carcass.

I've shot many jack rabbits here at the house . I usually just leave them where they tip over . I've seen deer on a couple occasions snacking them . I thought I was in the twilight zone

I put a cam on a deer gut pile and was surprised at the number of deer checking it out.

I've watched deer pick baby birds out of low built nests.

I’ve also seen a squirrel eat baby birds once.

Squirrels eat meat all the time when they can get it.

I may be wrong but I think I can still see the mouse in both those pictures. Maybe an owl or other bird swooped in and got it without triggering the camera after the deer left.

Neat photos amspoker! I had a friend as a kid who had an old pony he and his siblings rode. We would pop sparrows with our BB guns and that pony would gobble them up like they were sugar cubes.

There were no other tracks in the snow

I wish there were a better explanation

After realizing a deer likely devoured a mouse I'm probably going to need therapy

I was told by some ranchers either in AZ or MT that I should shoot every jackrabbit (or yote) I see and not to bother trying to eat them. They said to eat every cottontail I could.
