Glad it was kept intact.
I tried making a similar deal to make shot for a shotgun. I couldn't get them round enough that I'd try to make muzzleloader balls with it. The height must be critical. I always wonder how anyone ever figured that out back in the day.

I would hate to have been the one taking all the lead to the top of that thing by hand. Yes pulling on that rope through a block and tackle set up must have been grueling. Well after the masons carried the brick and mortar up there with brick and mortar hods.

160 That's funny.. I did Google it Seems story is.. A church back in olden times with lead roof burned. Someone noticed that there was round balls of lead where it had dripped off as roof melted. The rest is history as they say..
