Not many birds on the frozen prairie this time of year as everyone heads south for the winter. Starting to think that’s probably a good idea for me to. Winters just seem to get long. Here’s a few bird pics from the winter.

Seeing a lot of eagles and more hawks of all sizes a couple owls in the daytime even, no shortage of raptors this year.

There seems to be a lot of voles this year, good conditions for the raptors.

Strange year still peeling a good amount of fat off of the skunks here about to top off a good sized bucket with white fat most years they would be packing less fat now some years a paper thin layer by now. The critters know what’s up it seems like.

Haven’t seen a Bohemian yet this year either, sometimes will find one mixed in with the flocks of Cedars.

Sharpie has been hunting the sparrows and Redpolls on my bird feeder, not uncommon for them to show up but they are always so skittish that I’ve never been able to photograph. Finally got this bird to sit still for his pic, photo lifer 414.

Very impressive tally, mine is just a tic list, and the museum specimen side of me is a eat list

Great pictures Tray, thanks for sharing. I was waffling between sharpie or coopers until you replied.
