That's a number that Comes up a lot when talking about these reality shows. I don't think everyone is paid that but it must be a common number because you hear it all the time for these reality shows. I think it's very realistic for the top characters on these shows.

I think that sums it up pretty well. It's just entertainment. It's not serious video journalism or something - who would want to watch that? Geez, the next thing you know some know-it-all stick-in-the-mud will be on here telling us that professional wrestling isn't "real". Don't you people know how to have any fun?

Unlike most, I am really entertained by Sue. She has some great one-liners. And, I fully admire her taste in firearms. She has a nice collection of weapons.

I wish I had one of those buggies like she has, too. That'd be fun.

Sue is always in some sort of danger. Most of which is in her head. She is the ultimate drama-queen and it's not hard to understand why she is (supposedly) all alone at the camp she's in. I think she did a lot of people a huge favor by moving there.

"Never Wrong" Andy makes me wonder how hard he really has it where he's at. From the looks of things, he sure has a lot of equipment and other niceties around the camp he shares with the laughing hyena woman that is with him now.

The guy with the 80 dogs is kinda different too. I wonder what that place smells like when things begin to thaw out.

The Hailstones seem like great people. They can live in a teepee or a plywood shack and they are still smiling

At least that's the way the show makes her out. That's her character on the show. Maybe she's a little like that in real life and the TV show just exaggerates it even more. Or, maybe the show just created her that way on their own. I don't know.

I have always enjoyed the moose hunting scenes. Rico De Wilde, his young son, and others have shot some dandy moose and the scenes where they shoot, drop, and butcher them seem real enough for me.

I sent Chip a couple setters for him and his daughter. He said he was going to try and g t them on the show but I don’t get the seasons till they show up on Amazon or Netflix. Can’t remember the last season I watched but I know I’m behind.

Well there's a reason they picked her to be on the show and it wasn't because she was normal and boring in real life.

I'd be amazed if they are paid more than 5,000 per episode.

My ex wife met Sue through business dealings She took my ex and her friends out to dinner a couple times after visiting in town .My ex said she was pretty intelligent person and was a hoot to go drinking with very load and fun to be around. Said the show was very scripted and was a very different person in real life . I believe she was attacked by a bear once and what will change a person to be afraid of just about everything. I met a guy once how got chopped be a bear and lived and you could not get him back in the woods. Sues voice on the tv still drives my nuts that most the time I just mute it when she comes on .

I read that Sue gets $45,000.00 per show. She sure has some nice equipment up north and my old property with cabins on the Chena River paid for selling av gas so it might be correct.

No offense but I have to ask how you know this from Georgia?

Aren’t all reality tv shows heavy scripted?

I enjoy the show. I like the food variety the Hailstones pursue like Musk ox, seals etc. As for Sue, my favorite episode is when she rigged up the bathtub in her front yard hot water and all.

I also like the "next generation".

I talked to a videographer who has worked for the discovery channel. He told me that most of the top shows are paid more than six figures per show. He said Duck Dynasty was getting 270,000 per show and the Oak Island guys were getting $250,000 per show. Alaska Bush people $200,000 per show. That's divided among them.

I'm guessing most of them make just as much money from Personal Appearances and sponsorships as they do from the show.

I doubt if that's too far off.

I know a couple that did Alone together and the big money came after they started a YouTube series. They don’t do anything anymore but those!

All the reality show stars led solitary lives before getting famous showing what city folks dream about and get big bucks for their time. Good for them!
