Myself and 2 friends want to kill a Merriam turkey. We are looking for advice on where to go. This could be a self guided hunt but a guided hunt is preferred if anyone knows a good one. Any help is appreciated.

Check out the Black Hills just get out of town a long ways to get some elbow room put on a lot of miles to locate the birds then set up early in the AM.

I chased a nice gobbler away from my hens three times tonight in fifteen minutes while doing chores. I finally threw a milk jug at it to get it to fly. Come to north Idaho in the fall, you can shoot five either sex and most farmers will give you access.

SE Montana or WY as well. Watch out on the SD reservations if you go unguided.

Black Hills, beautiful place! Although I'm told the numbers are nowhere near what they were. Last time I was there, like everywhere, the hunters outnumbered the hunted many times over. You'll see tags from half the states in the country. Plans are to go back there next year to hopefully complete the boy's slam. Florida in 4 weeks!!!
