My family was a bit more affluent. We could afford rope, making it a little more like water skiing.

We used to do that, one night a junker car drove by I grabbed the bumper and was skiing then a piece of it came off in my hand! We all quickly decided to quit for the night then LOL

We would "poegee" on the tractor trailer bumpers when they slowed down at the only light in town. The trick was to let go before the truck got going too fast

ya you gotta laugh at things like this that kids did back in the 50 and 60s years i grew up in north marquette mi at these times and in the winter we didnt want too see any city sand trucks it would ruin the street for hockey and we called it bummin or hitchin cars. we could hitch for a couple miles towards downtoen if we were going that far. and ya cars had good bumpers back then. good memories thanks guys.
