CFMoto atvs and side by sides pricing seems actually reasonable. Anybody own one and would you buy again?

My work tried some ATVs...

Currently have a cfmoto less than 3 yrs old and everything on the machine has fallen apart. It's sitting beside a 2011 Honda foreman with 19,100 miles that other than Minor ball joint type stuff is in perfect condition

No personal experience, but while shopping for used ATVs I noticed a LOT of people trying to sell fairly new CFmoto bikes. I have read a few positive reviews. But the large number of people trying to unload them, relative to the small number of that brand thats been sold, scared me off.

From their website: From our flagship operation in China, CFMOTO quickly established a worldwide presence.

Had a dealer here a few years back. The prices were great, apparently the machines weren't. Place went belly up after only a year or two. Biggest complaint I heard was no one could get parts for them. Which apparently was often.

I bought a UForce 1000 in May. Its been a great machine, with 1800 miles so far. Used it everyday to check traps, putting on 50 miles daily. I had a polaris before that was a complete piece of junk. The CFMoto comes standard with powersteering, winch and roof. They are options on all the others. The price out the door was 12,500 for a 2021 side by side, about 4000-6000 less than the other makers. CFMoto has sold atv's worldwide for something like 40 years, just more recently here. Yes, it is a Chinese company, but look at where the parts are made for the others. So far its been a good buy for me.

My wife works at a shop that sells them. I have 2 very close friends that have them. Both of them say they would buy again. Neither of the 2 are mud boggers they just trail ride. Since the shop my wife works at is a family owned business I spend a fair amount of time there.

Things I know about CF Moto:
They are a Chinese Co. that has a state of art facility
Most of the parts on each unit are a mirror image of parts on other brands.
They have a large share of the market world wide. (places like Australia)
There USA distribution center is in Minnesota. So yes you can get parts.
A lot of problems that they had in the past came from problems that were lost in translation (example: they needed to put lock tight on some of the bolts and through translation grease ended up being used)

Over all I think they make a decent product. With the supply issues we are having across the whole nation actual machines and there parts may be hard to get.

Just My Opinion, Do your research, Good Luck in your search!

This is very interesting. I had never heard of that company.

So the price out the door was $12,500? That is incredible. I recently paid $23,600 out the door for a Honda Pioneer 1000 3-seater. I would like to see a “side by side” comparison. It would be very interesting. Is one only half as good as the other? Is one twice as good as the other? Doubtful.

My Pioneer was made in the USA. But what does that really mean? I would like to know where parts and components were made. We waited almost 9 months because they could not get electronic components to build it.

Does CFMoto build side by sides that are sold at Tractor Supply, Sam’s Club, and Cub Cadet? A friend has a Cub Cadet that has been very good for him.

When Japan was building their economy after WWII they reverse engineered successful products and made lower cost but inferior versions. Back then “Made in Japan” meant a junk product. Japan has come a long way in engineering and production. Some folks today would say that some Japanese made products are superior to their domestic counterparts. China has reverse engineered Japan’s reverse engineering and production. They saw what worked and repeated it.

How long will the CFMoto side by side last? Hopefully it will last a long time. How about the Honda? Only time will tell. I chose the Honda because of good experience with their products. My wife bought a new 1996 Honda 4 wheeler. It has had a lot of use but still looks and runs great. Maintenance has been regular oil changes, batteries, tires, and the rear axles replaced about 20 years ago. Our 2000 Yamaha 4 wheeler has had a lot of use and also has been good for us with regular oil changes, batteries, tires, and a starter - I used it to plow snow yesterday.

I have a 2013 Rubicon, it has power steering, that's great.
It's not made as good as my '02 Rubicon

I belong to a CFMoto facebook page that has members with machines that have 30,000 miles on them with just normal upkeep. There again any side by side is only as good as the person treats and maintains it. No, they are not sold by any of the big box stores. I believe these machines are assembled in the US,. Does that mean made in the USA. Probably not.

We have a fair number of CF Moto (both ATV and Side by side machines) in the trail system here. They sure look like nice machines. I am currently shopping for a new two-seat ATV and I have considered CF Moto.

I am looking at buying an ATV which will still have good value five years from now and I am not sure CF Moto is it.

I am considering Can Am Outlander (850)...I just wish Kawasaki or Honda made a two - seater I would have already ordered one... Not an easy pick if you are shopping for a new machine..some end up being a money pit after 6 months.

Plenty easy enough...

Honda..

Put 28,500 miles on a Honda foreman in a single year...

Only 20 plus year old machines you still see around and not uncommon... Honda...

Maybe go Honda

I'm sure when they started out they were typical Chinese junk . I'm sure they have come along ways over the years though to compete with the reliable jap stuff . When copying their competitors some of the reliability will be copied too .

The price is definitely a deciding factor

Yep, I would in a heart beat but Honda won't make a two- seater. So in essence if you install a rear seat on your ATV (which is what I have now), the machine is not in compliance and you may end up getting a ticket.

I am not sure what the Off- Road Vehicles legislation is down where you are but here it is something else.

My wife started to ride with me last year so I decided to upgrade to something which will comply with legislation...right now the added rear seat is somewhat tolerated but again it depends on the mood of the Officer doing the inspection. Not too many options with two-seat ATVs.
