She is 7 months old, her name is Feisty. Any tips on training her to find moose sheds, other than hiding one in the snow and rewarding her when she finds it?

Found this little one in the snow while getting wood yesterday. Going to train her with it.

Going to need a bigger dog for some of the moose sheds in your neck of the woods.

Got our first yellow lab and just turned 1yo. Really smart and loves to fetch so shouldn’t take too long to train. Ours has a one track mind though and if you can keep its focus it would be the best dog for finding shed. Good luck!

I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!

My Redbone grew to 2 now .She will become a shed dog too
She's silent on a coon track & I'm old school can't spend $500 on a tracking collar or zapper.
I'm going to try Deer antler finds

Hey FL, those sure look like a pair. Could you post a pic of the pedicles side by side. What makes you think they aren't a match?

They were found in different river drainages, miles apart, the length of the beams before the paddles is much different, one beam dips down considerably, one has a narrow top with no tines rubbed off, the other has a wide top with the tines rubbed off, the pedicles are very different in size and shape. I wanted them to be a pair, but were too many variables. They are done sold.

Check out this fellow on YouTube. "The Maine Woods". His dog is a Black Lab. It is amazing at finding antlers, most of which are moose.
