Such exquisite delicate work, drasselt , in resin to admire .
Wonderful talent from all , here.
Question for anyone…..over time I notice bone tends to yellow just a bit. I dust them, and have even lightly washed them a couple of times . I burn wood for heat , but am as careful as possible about any soot from smoke not being allowed in the house.
They are in a corner, not near a window with direct light on them.
Is it possible to give them a whitening touch up ? Or does time in open air just make them tinge to ivory tones ?

You absolutely can re-whiten them and make them “fresh” again. It’s a small process but can be done by you or I’m sure your taximan would do it for you. I like to seal the skull with a Krylon matte finish. Just spray it on and it dries real quick. Future dustings are a breeze on a sealed skull. Dust really really sticks to bone that isn’t sealed and begins leaching out grease.

JP, many thanks for your thoughts . I do like the ease of upkeep on anything sealed with a matte finish. Logs in a cabin are especially good to do that with, and I need clean , organized living space. I also received some nice thoughts via pm also , similar to yours. The taximan has a friend who does the beetle work , he won't allow a chance for them to get loose in his shop with all the mounts he works on at risk, so I can't recall what that man's procedure was after his bug teams finished with it.
The two guys work as partners, when it comes to Euro mounts.
I am familiar with Krylon finish , I have used it on resin models . Thank you again for your shared thoughts. I will look into that .

Looks like a deer mouse or kin (Peromyscus). They are so fragile that I would go the maceration route (Biz detergent in water and soak the skull for a couple weeks), then maybe degrease in Acetone and finish with 3% OTC hydrogen peroxide for 24 hours. Rinse well, and dry. On the other hand, I suspect you could probably skip the degreasing and go straight to the hydrogen peroxide.

Yes, deer mouse (Peromyscus maniculatus) or white-footed mouse (Peromyscus leucopus), Pennsylvania's only two native mice. Impossible for me to tell from just the skull.
Eh...wot?

Back in the day when I had time I would always finish the skull with 50/50 white Elmers glue and water. Sure have been enlighten with all the info I've read on this post.
