Has anyone sold furs their furs yet? If so, how did you do? I sold today and I might have just as well given my furs away. They wanted $0.75 for a decent lot of coyotes. That person no saled them.

Muskrat: $0.75-4 they were early not very prime fur.
Opossum: $0.75.
Skunk: $4.
Coon: $0.25-4.5
Coyotes: $9-12
I didn't have any bobcats but they were bringing $25-150
One guy had 57 green coyotes and only 15 got bids.
All my furs are put up. Buyers were telling me that I had them done how they wanted.

Sounds like the "buyers" who were there may have been bottom feeders.

Stark, Calps, Archer's, Kan Okla, and a few others. It was a Kansas auction with all Kansas buyers.

Some early fur? Early not very prime fur will have zero value for a few years. That's just market conditions. These buyers were not "bottom feeders" some buy considerable fur in normal years.

I have no problem with bottom feeders, I tend to be one myself at times.
I guess I was trying to say that I don't think those prices nessacarily represent market conditions.
For example, I don't think $4 represent the current price of skunks; skunks are a pretty good seller right now, and have been for some time.
I have no idea the quantity or quality of the skins on the sale. Perhaps there were only a handful of poor quality skunks on the sale.

Sold some early coyote late Oct early Nov for $32 The next bunch I got offered $26 turned the offer down and sent them to Co. Auction. The next will go to ID or Mt auction. I realize the traveling buyer has a lot of fuel expenses and motel but wont give fur away.

Your avg ks coyote is what the industry calls a "commercial".

For ease of discussion, in the fur industry you can categorize coyotes by the heft, or density of their fur.

Heavy
Semi
Commercial

Color, and texture are a different discussion, but basically, Pale/Silky is easier to sell than dark/coarse.

The farther west you go in ks, the more the coyotes start trending towards a "Commercial plus", or a "Semi minus".

It's been well publicized this year that anything less than good colored heavies will be hard to move.

When buyers are reckless enough to offer money for commercial goods this year , they should be thanked for sticking their necks out. Not insulted by calling them bottom feeders.

That's out of line.
