I read yesterday that if Howard was going to punch someone for calling a timeout, It should have been Chris Webber ! That's hilarious. I think Juwan is a hothead and needs to be more careful in a lot of ways. He's losing his reputation as a good coach, short as it has been. This will definitely hurt recruiting.

The Wisconsin coach was a jerk to call a timeout and Howard was a bigger jerk to punch the assistant coach. A 5 game suspension and a $40,000 fine is a small price to pay. Lots of schools would have fired him.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Lots of schools would have fired him. Why was he a jerk to call a timeout? Just about any other coach would have done the same thing in that situation; he wanted to give his reserves a little breathing room to avoid making the 10-second backcourt violation. Greg Gard's explanation of the situation was plenty understandable to me. Juwan Howard just didn't understand the situation and when Greg tried to explain it to him, Howard just went off. Hothead.

If he was Bobby Knight, there would have been no consequence for him.

If he was Bobby Knight, there would have been no consequence for him. They definitely let Bobby get by with a lot but it was because he was the best. Just ask Howard and his Fab Five buddies what there record was against him. Bobby did eventually hang himself though.
Looks like he needs another year;-)

Lots of schools would have fired him. No he wasn't a jerk for calling a time out. IF the white coach had punched a black coach the WHOLE team would have been suspended. What about Howard having his guys foul with 1 minute left down 13? PLUS why hit the scrawny white boy assistant coach. I think the guy should press charges against the thug wannabe ! Bet you if it was reversed charges would be coming. IT WAS AFTER THE GAME !!! IF you don't want a coach to call timeout when your getting beat by 14 points DON'T get down 14 points. Plus what better time to practice or run a play that you might need in a closer game. Pound that loser and his cronies into the floor. Next time leave the starters in and beat him and his losers by 20 !!! LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL Big 10 babies whaaaa

Michigan was using a full court press with 15 seconds left in the game! That is what precipitated the timeout to avoid a 10 second violation from the Wisconsin backups. No press and the ball would have been advanced to mid court and the clock would have run out. Shake hands and move on to the next game. Not a good look to throw a punch after the game.
