We were too poor …..but my Friend had one…we use to ride double on it to school 7-8 grade. He also put the big Sissy Baah on it too !

I couldnt ride a wheelie to save my soul…..but there was a couple of kids in town that could ride a wheelie for evah !

Never had anything but a standard one speed. Did’nt even realize the shiftable ones existed. Rode that one speed all to heck since the fishing hole on our property was about a half mile from the house and the little store with soda pop and candy was a mile away.

My friend got his in 68’ …I was in the 7th grade that Fall ..he was in 8 th. Not too many kids had them …and theft was not a problem ,back then.

Our friends went to different schools together.
My Buds was an apple. That bike inspired us to build choppers.
We had the first hard tail springer bikes, all home fabbed.
My Son followed the bike building with BMX then later mountain bikes.
He's into Cannondale at the moment.
There is $$ in bikes.

The last time scrap spiked I took in over a hundred, I can't save everything,
though I try lol.

Yep, by mine was just one speed. The sissy bar was a little longer.

I hade the model that didn't have gears. Came with a racing slick on the back. Be worth a fortune now

Those little kiddie bikes?? Heck, in my time if a kid had a 24” he was called a sissy!! LOL I quit riding bikes at 12 because I was buying and repairing old, beat-up sometimes in a box, Cushman scooters! LOL
