I plan on using some older canned fruit jams as a bait (plum and peach). What, if anything, will I need to add to them to keep them usable? Thanks.

They call them preserves for a reason. I don't think you'll need to add anything, but they probably won't hold up to rain well, so if you will have to either protect them from the rain or rebait more often.

Thanks Bearcat2. I should have mentioned these are home canned, but 10 years old. My wife won't use them even though seals are intact. I'll try them out and see how it goes. Co-worker tossed some old grape jelly out and had grey fox on his deer cams. Thought I would use these instead of trashing them.
