I thought they would be offering another round of checks right now to pump up the faithful followers.

Glad we saved our monies, coming in quite handy these days. Just finishing our 2021 taxes and it is a very good time to review how much we spend and where. My wife is not enjoying the research as we can quite easily find ways to lower our spending by more than the 7-8% inflation we have currently. I won't be able to do all of it but even half will be a big savings.
We have booked and paid for a couple of trips. Glad we had those covered. Looking at travel in the future is going to be very costly. Trips that 3-4 years ago were $1500-$2200 are now 3k or more. There are many close and local options to take in.

Sounds like your wife may not be as, how should I say, frugal as you? Just lower your spending and easily make up for record inflation. There may be a whitehouse job waiting for you if Jen Psaki ever grows a conscience.
