I'm just about done chasing beavers for the year, but I've got a few more places to hit, so I figured I'd make up a batch of castor lure. It's nothing special or secret. Honestly I don't even know if it's that good. I don't beaver trap enough to know if it's really good stuff or not, but it seems to do the trick for me.

The ingredients: some castors, a little bit of beaver oil, glycerin, the cheapest whiskey Walmart had, vanilla extract, and anise extract.

[Linked Image]
Chop the castors up into 1/4"ish pieces. I used a huge fairly full castor, along with a couple empty ones

My wife calls this the beaver butthole grinder. I picked it up for like $1 at goodwill.

Ready to grind....the three castors, maybe 2oz of glycerin, 2oz of whiskey, maybe 1/4 teaspoon of the beaver oil, and a splash each of vanilla and anise extracts.

Grind it up for a minute and this is what I end up with.

Looks good, hope it works. I'd use a dog turd if it would guarantee i would catch beaver . Thank goodness for Backbreaker , it works great and smells better than a dog turd.

Looks to me like it would work on cats almost as well as it works on Beever
