Sorry for your loss, I do not know what their take is on the matter. I was taught in bible class that there is only one unforgivable sin, that being not accepting Jesus as our Savior.

Jehovah's Witnesses view suicide from the standpoint that only God can fully understand the role of mental sickness, extreme stress, even genetic defects that may lead a person to take their own life. We do not judge such a person. 1 Timothy 4:1 says that "Jesus is the judge of the living and the dead". In light if this, many of Jehovah's Witnesses who have lost loved ones and friends to suicide take comfort in the words of Psalm 103: 12-14;

12 As far off as the sunrise is from the sunset, So far off from us he has put our transgressions.
13 As a father shows mercy to his sons, Jehovah has shown mercy to those who fear him.
14 For he well knows how we are formed, Remembering that we are dust.

Doesn't matter. JW deny the Divinity of Jesus. The Bible, not that rewritten version they hold with, is pretty clear on that.

Is there a specific reason you are inquiring their take on it?

Hard to imagine a depression so deep a person would take their own life. A horrible cancer or some other fatal condition a person may not want to fight anymore is easier to understand. You have my sympathy for whatever good that does for your loss.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Not sure how you come to that. I don’t believe they condone it.

I’m not an expert. The band I’m in consist of 2 Mormons, a Baptist, Methodist and a Wesleyan. We agree Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and we are servants, that’s about the extent of our religious discussions.

Every Jovie I encountered in life was just plain odd.

It's another cult.

I know a guy who was excommunicated from the JW church for chewing tobacco. They aren't right.

There is a lot of od stuff in different religions. This is one I only know what I have heard. Maybe I should not repeat it as fact. But it includes they believe in a purgatory instead of (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman). There b is a set # like 240,000 getting into heaven.

Fact I know if you answer the door necked and invite them in they will not come in or come back. wink

Learned more about Mormons first hand. The wife had a mixed group doing Bible study and one was a Mormon. It sounded appealing, until you got into it a bit further.

At the end of the day it's probably what ever you grow up with.

Your looking for answers and in turn something to blaim. But you will find no answer that will satisfy you. People do crazy things and few see it coming when there is a friend or loved one that comments suicide. Then they feel guit, what could I have done, I did not see it... it's easier to find some one else to blame and to hard to blame the dead.

Your friend did it and you will never make since of it. The devil did his work is about the best I think you will ever come up with. It's hard on the friends and family. It about made my mom have a breakdown when one of her former foster kids she had for years shot herself as her father's grave. Yep the kid was 19 and had a lot going for her but she could not see it and hid her mess well.
Her dad was a strict controlling sexual abusive man. This was discovered after he died and she entered the system. She was Chinese had no since of fashion never fit in in school and I think she got used and dumped by a boy. We will never know what or how people get to that place. Don't try to play the blame game it won't work.

They did.
In most Christian religions"If u believe Jesus died for your sins, u are saved (forgiven) and will go to heaven".
They believe u must work for it, so this is the pressure that make some do weird things like your friend.
