Just curious if there were any Alistair MacLean readers on here? How do you like his writing?

Boy, it has been awhile since I heard his name. He authored some very good books ; Where Eagles Dare , The Guns of Navarone, to name a few.

My dad read all his books and I inherited them. Quite a few were made into movies. Puppet on a chain was interesting.

I'm about to become one.

I never heard of him but looked him up after reading your post. i liked what I read and ordered his first two books; H.M.S. Ulysses (1955) and The Guns of Navarone (1957).

Surprised you never heard of him. How old are you? You never watched the old movie, "The Guns of Navaronne"? Find the movie after you read the book!

I've seen both the Navarone movies, didn't know he authored the books they were based on.

If I like the first two books I will order more. He wrote more than forty, that should keep me in reading material for a while.

I might watch the Navarone movies again, it's been forty years or so

Eh...wot?

I think I read almost every book he ever wrote.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

If he's a decent writer, and it seems like he is, i'll end up reading all of his books. That's what do if I like a writer's style, read all the books they ever had published, Steven King, Lee Child, Robert Ruark, Fredrik Backman, George R. R. Martin, Ernest Hemingway, Charles Dickens, etc.

Eh...wot?
