I don't skin beaver unless someone will pay for them and I will not skin them for a 6 dollar avg. , if the coyote market keeps falling I'll quit skinning them too!

When the competition has unreasonably low standards, pretty sure it will be tough to get paid in this racket. Good thing there are few marten in the lower 48 other wise they would be selling for $7 like mink.

$7 is a great price for mink(currently)

Positive meaning in October/November GFW was paying $5-$6 for a green blanket beaver. Now it is $12.
I know.....still very cheap. I do not know about otter.

I thought it was positive news for the future of ADC work. Not for me though.

If the rising trend continues, a couple more buck and we'll be back up to 1832 price average of $9.00!
Of course, once you factor for inflation 1832 $9.00 equals 2022 $296.21, I guess there's still a little room for improvement yet.

$12 is for green beaver? Well that isn't terrible then. You know how people are going to skin them if they aren't putting them up. Lets face it, when McDonalds is paying $15/hr, you have to figure that they are paying at least that if not more for someone to put up the hides they buy green. So I figure a properly put up hide ought to be worth twice that. And $25 a beaver isn't great, but with the way the market has been, it is an improvement.

With inflation the way it is, shouldn't fur prices be rising at the same rate as everything else? Is the demand that low and the supply that high that the situation has kept the fur market that depressed?

Dollar remains too strong

I think there is still a desire for fur products in many countries, but with economic situations, the demand is for food and other necessities trumps the desire for luxury items. Right now the logistical and economical implications of transporting, processing, manufacturing, and retailing to the few end users that can still afford fur garments are overwhelming.
