My wife is on fire control as we burn off a section of our warm season grass yesterday. Doing the back burn before lighting the head fire caught on a trail cam. Tried a leaf blower on the fire creeping in the short grass and it was a lot faster than spraying with water.

Backpack blowers are a great tool for Rx fire. Used mine to clear an ATV trail for a fire break when we burned half of a block of timber. Great to put out spot fires as well.

If it were me, I would have let that thing just keep backing rather than stripping off the head.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Head fire with a little wind is a lot hotter and does a better job of killing little trees, IMHO. Always very careful and pick the best weather days.
