After watching Ukraine citizens step up to the plate and help their military fight I have a question. Would American politicians Surrender our country if we were in a war and started to take on heavy casualties and not even ask are citizens to take up arms and help our military fight for are way of life and country ? I am thinking that our politicians would surrender so they could be part of the new replacement country / Government. They Would sale us American citizens out in a heart beat to save themselves. MD

Didn't some foreign leader once say America would be taken over without a fight? It would probably be China as things stand now.

China can't even keep the lights on right now. Their economy depends on us buying their goods just as much as we depend on them producing those goods.
Our "allies" in Europe who love gun control, green energy, "free" healthcare, social justice, etc... worry me more than China or Russia. And we have a whole bushel of politicians who praise their policies and want us to be more like them... A decent portion of the people in the US are of the same mind.
I definitely believe there are politicians who would sell us out in a second to get a seat at the table for themselves.

Keep in mind our trade deficit last year was almost $860 billion. How long can your house keep going spending more than it makes each year? 860 billion in wealth lost just last year and climbing each year.

Would our government surrender us? Depends on what's in it for them. All the enemy needs to do is offer our leaders something better than what they have now.

Mike Show me a politician who wants to be constrained. Most of them crave power and they've managed to insulate themselves from the will of the people. They vote themselves pay raises and pretend they can't hear the calls for term limits. The further removed they are from the control of the people, the better for them. I'm reluctant to call them elites, it's rarely our best and brightest who wind up in government. There aren't enough Mr. Smiths going to Washington.

How long can your house keep going spending more than it makes each year? 860 billion in wealth lost just last year and climbing each year. Are you confusing trade deficit with national debt? Trade deficit means we are buying more of their stuff than they are buying of ours... With China we are buying more Walmart goods and iPhones than they are buying wheat and corn. We may have a trade deficit with China, but we may offset that with a trade surplus with other countries. Borrowing to spend more than we have worries me more than unequal amounts of goods being exchanged in the market. I agree we should build more stuff here and export more than we import. But trade numbers with one country don't tell the whole story. Mike

In the mafia you pretty much get to do what you want as long as the guy(s) above you get their "tribute." People like Pelosi would sell out in a second to the new "boss" and keep right on doing what they're doing. The folks at the tip top always delegate responsibility out to underlings... Kings had earls, dukes, barons, counts, governors, viceroys, etc... And they all had to collect taxes from the peasants to pay the king his fair share. Names, borders, and policy would change. But the scumbags would be the same ones that have always done what they do. Mike

Our over all trade deficit. How much we sell to other countries compared to how much the rest of the world buys from us. I don't think I'm confused but ive been wrong before Yes, there is a deficit in trade. We send billions of our dollars to China for the goods they produce... However, the bigger issue is that the federal government spends more than they collect in taxes... And they borrow billions from China to fund that... And that's money the Chinese got from us. First thing is to quit letting government spend more than they collect in tax revenue... Then quit strangling business with overregulation so they can produce more goods here... Then the inequity in import/export should take care of itself. Mike
