why people post used traps for sale in the trap shed for higher than brand new price.

It’s because of all the experience in them.

They have probably seen the inflated antique show prices for brand new Duke 1 1/2 "Bear" traps.

High fur prices are driving up used trap prices.

What's it matter? If someone wants to buy them they will if not they will sit, or they will drop the price.

Some people will still buy them.

Shipping , handling inflation figured into that. LOL

On line rummage sales are about that same at times

these are not just traps, these are Hugh Glass's personal traps ,very rare fined , this is your chance to hold history in the palm of your hand , i have a buyer on the other line , are you buying or not !!

I could understand if shipping was included, but it wasn't, lol.

In sales start high, you can usually go down if needed, then the buyer thinks they get a deal, might not apply to traps but it's a general rule

Simply the first step of the haggle.
A big mistake some make is to post a super low price. This can make people believe that what is being offered is junk and not worth any amount of money.

Some are rarer collectors models, and so bring a higher price.

Saw a lady today at a farm auction pay $35 each for 3 Duke 330’s.
Two minutes later I bought 6 Belisle 280’s, like new, for $12 each lol.
Crazy.
I got a Comstock beaver cage trap for $150 and a beer flat crammed full of June’s bait and lure, unopened, for $10.
