k snow OP trapper K Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 6,411 east central WI	Here are some pics of one of his latest. Fifty caliber, octagon to round barrel, curly maple stock. I am going to lay out some simple carving patterns. He will do the carving, then stain and finish.

Most of the parts are purchased. The stocks start as planks, so that is all hand work. A lot of the brass are rough castings, so filing, sanding and polishing them. Locks need tuned.

Flint Lock trapper F Joined: Jan 2021 Posts: 265 PA	Nice rifle. The panel around the lock is way too big and needs to be reduced. It should be no more than about 1/8" around the lock and can taper out a little more towards the beaver tail at the rear.
