The United States of America.
There is one word in the title of our nation -United - which is important as we watch and listen to the endless harumph harrumph grumble grumble every day all day of people trying to figure out why people are so mad and so edgy in our land?
We should ask ourselves one and only one question.
What is the country United to? In other words, who or what is the unifier? The title of our nation says it.... States of America. Is that true?
What are people in the USA united to we ask?
A nation? A culture? A race? A president? A state? A city? An occupation? A sport? A pastime? A gender? A sexual orientation? A new law? On and on and on it goes... where it stops.... nobody knows.
Pick one. And when you do, it becomes your subject or better yet what's called your IDENTITY.
It's all about identity y'all.. Always has been and always will be.
Pick yours.
A person's identity is how they see themselves and what they fight to defend, especially when someone else challenges that identity.
And the CORE of any identity and what people FIGHT over is that adjective they will use to IDENTIFY themselves to everyone else.

Just like UNITED. United is an adjective and an adjective's purpose is to describe the subject or noun of States of America. United is the adjective and States of America is the noun. People fight over adjectives and they ALWAYS place them first in the English language to IDENTIFY the noun.
Examples: Black American. Black is adjective describing American. White American. White is adjective. Pretty man. Pretty is the adjective.
People ARGUE over their adjective.
Fat American.
Hispanic- American.
Lazy American.
Gay American.

See how this works? The United is being challenged by 10000000 other adjectives now inserted into the name of the United States of America. So we fight 1000000000 ways because there is no unifier.
We are so smart now in 2021 we are even starting to ARGUE over the nouns we all used to agree on.
White male.
Black male.
Hispanic female.
The noun is now even being contested.

The games people play that do not ultimately matter. All this ^^^^^ is that. Fighting over an IDENTITY that is secondary and can be changed by the whims of others.
Even gender now-a-days.

It will get worse because revelation tells us it'll get worse.
You believe you can stop people from fighting over descriptive adjectives they IDENTIFY with? Impossible.
You believe you'll battle all those whose adjective is spelled differently than yours? Impossible.

There has always been and will always be One Unifier that calls us to unify to Him and others. And since He made it all, He'd know best.
But we think we know best.
How's it working these days?
That's the legitimate question.

I'll go with God - family - community in that order. I'll start with the Unifier of all.

The unifier has always been sovereignty. Its why our ancestors told George to suck eggs.

Secondary identity would be sovereignty, yes.

I know you want to think its your religion but it just aint so Mark. Even Thomas Jefferson, who had a BIG hand in writing the documents, was not a follower of your religion.

Are you asking or telling us?

I'm going with our sovereignty and freedom also.

Whatever unifies us should do so loosely. Everyone marching in lockstep is not a good thing.

With Roe v. Wade affirmed, does sovereignty really exist in these United States of America?

I would offer that you can see it quite clearly - the primary focus of the crafters of this nation is evident because they wrote their primary identity (adjectival) right up front as they began.
As we still do today.

We hold these truths to be self evident....
Their unifier was the God of the Bible. None other.
For some, it still is.
For others today, they fight for identities and causes that are their identity.
Try to find unifying common ground on that basis = impossible long term.

Look around. Anyone can witness the ever expanding individual identities which are being fought over.
And will continue to be.

Where does freedom come from?
That's a question to ask.

The framers said it came from God, not men.
21st century America says that's hooey and then says it comes from the people's favorite places.
How's this all working out.
The Framers would not recognize today's fight because they wrote that the Framing could only work with a moral people.

Freedom came from a gun barrel, and still does.

Was God the reason they united and threw the Tea into the harbor and fought the British, or was it to be free from them?

Hippie I reckon they did that for the rights they knew God gave them. Those unalienable rights.

Even God will not unify good with evil. That’s where we are regardless of what color or sex it is.

God won't pick the weeds from the wheat untill later.

It ain't that. But its the easy way out I guess.

Our unifier is we live in the same geographic area. That's about it. Several items could unify us but the minority number of people will go against it in the end just for the sake of being different.

Mark, you and Folks like me know and believe in the Great unifier and we have so much in common with those that are politically likeminded and love this country that don’t believe. On the other side of the political spectrum they overwhelmingly loathe what we believe politically and or theological. I’ve heard it described like this.

Picture a married couple. The dad wants to move to the suburbs. He dreams of a nice house. White picket fence, two door garage, big backyard for playing with the kids and entertaining family and friends. The Wife on the other hand wants to sell everything they have and tour Europe with Led Zeppelin and do Black Tar Heroin!! Where is common ground for these two? Should they think about just going their separate ways before things get nasty? Wouldn’t it be best just to sit down split up the assets in a peaceful manner and go their own ways?
