Cold, spitting snow, great day to paint fish!
This is a reproduction of a walleye I caught in Canada 4 years ago. It was 31 1/2 inches and was very golden with no white on it's belly.
It's been on my to do list.
It does look darker on the back in normal light, the bright light where I was painting shows the light base through the darker transparent green. I will look at it again tomorrow and if I still like it I will put clear on it.
Starts as a white blank with clear fins and all the detail has to be added as well as all the color. Fun day!!

Very nice! I'm all about reproductions rather than killing the fish. If everyone would throw the big ones back there would be better fishing everywhere.
I also like the bluegill on the wall!

Nice fish and paint job.

Tippy, The bite is on now. Useing emerald shiners seined from Roth park creek. Catching a few white bass (silvers) also in the early morning. G'luck.

Flipper that looks great. The fins and the tail are a true work of art. It always amazes how lifelike an artist such as yourself can transfer what you see in their mindseye on to a medium. Are you working off a picture or from memory?

Thanks, I am always taking pics with my phone of fresh fish when they have all their color and I get prints made and stick them in photo albums that I can use when I paint. Sometimes I go from memory and make things the way I like them!! grin

River, right below the dam's chartreuse jig, dressed w, minnow, tiny split shot 18 inches high, slow jig retrieve. About two ft. deep. DNR on weekends. Oakdale better than Norway.

Great Work Flipper!

Thanks Scott, it was crazy I caught 2 that were that size and a 30 1/2 in about 20 minutes one morning and later in the week I was trolling a giant saltwater crankbait with a huge bill and it was ticking the bottom at 36 feet and I caught another 31 1/2 incher on it. I will try and find a pic for you.

Looks like you do a wash of thinned out India Ink..for the base…then Iam lost…lol. Looks Fantastic ! ….I dub around with my O guage RR layout….making new freight cars look all beat up and rusty looking…with chaulks and dull coat. Its a relaxing time for sure
