Montana's trapper education work group meets in Missoula from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fish, Wildlife & Parks office on Spurgin today.

The public is invited, and can give input near the end of the meeting. Starting next year, Montana will require education for most trapping licensees.

The program is to give trappers knowledge and skills to be ethical, humane, responsible, legal, and safe. Courses will include best practices, regulations, and how to avoid trapping other species.
