We take the end cap out and then when we find out where the water is hitting then put rock or cement there to spread the water out, it’s easier to do that then shovel limestone all the way along the side of the house, jbyrd here that would be called 3/4 chip, 3/4 road stone, or 3/4 with fines depends on who you talk to.

I agree with you for the most part , Jbyrd . Simpler is usually better, as long as it works. Washed stone with proper grading will usually handle the water coming off a roof or shed ... But some factors to consider are the size of the roof ( how much water is it going to generate? ) And then like you mentioned - does the area have proper grading and elevations to get rid of the water ? (water does NOT like to run uphill … lol) I was just offering a couple alternatives that we do on regular basis for homeowners and businesses with drainage issues . The company I work for does excavating , along with sand and gravel processing and trucking . You would be surprised at the amount of “fixing” of projects done by others that we get called in to do . blush
