I thought one of the most appealing things about crypto was that it's so hard for the governments to track transactions made with it?
It uses blockchain which stores information, so it is trackable.

Some of the people on the financial programming don't seem to be able to explain just what cryptocurrency is or why it has value. I have a few shares of Coinbase but it has gone nowhere and I'm glad I didn't buy more.
Can anyone come up with a simple definition for it? Will it speed the devaluation of the dollar? Cryptos generally are transaction logs. Not all of em are that eay like stablecoins.

No, the attraction is that it is outside of the government's control/manipulation. Some people think its untraceable and bought into it for that reason.

I don`t understand it either.Bitcon and other crypto is a way to hide things from the government but the Fed is talking about making a fed coin that will replace the dollar if I understand it right.
