As Law Dog mentioned in another thread, its been plenty windy in South Dakota the past 3 days or so, oh spring time in the northern plains!! I met up with "Pete", our state FHA agent on the edge of Soo Foo today to drop off my pathetic little bag of donated fur I had finished out--can't remember how the badger ended up in there...Anyway Pete had a little rental U-Haul truck, maybe a 14-footer, and it was about half full of bags. I asked him how plowing the wind with that "sail" worked and he said it was averaging about 5-6 mpg pushing into it. He said it cost him over $200 to make the run out to Rapid City. Pete usually has some optimistic thing to say, I guess that goes with the territory. I took a empty bag, maybe it will be a lot fuller than the one I handed in today after next season. Maybe...

Anymore the bags are more precious then whatever you put in them.

In my case today, probably so. But it was a recycled one so maybe the current value it now matches grin

Pete is a good guy and is a better and more organized FHA Agent than the new ND guy who can't even figure out a route and post it so we know when and where to meet him.

I agree, Pete seems in my encounters, a good laid back kind of guy, Someone you could bull with endlessly.
My only concession is that I wish prices were better. Haven't met the truck in a while.
