My brother and I were both able to harvest nice gobblers on Saturday. All of our hens have already been bred and we found several sitting on nests. Seems like our season needs to be 3 weeks earlier. Had to hunt them more like deer than turkeys but we got them!

Neither had long beards but both had great spurs. Both had 9" beards. His had 1-5/8" spurs and mine had 1-1/4. Both birds over 20lb

Two of my buddies were also able to get birds with my loads. The little guns sure did shine this weekend

Little holes and all of the pellets pass completely through his head. Perfect for taxidermy. I am selling the heads for $20 a piece to a taxidermist

Nice bird the new trend here is to move the opening dates towards the end of April. WY did that I expect SD might do the same it seems the dispersal gets later and later every year now. The hens were in the trees at the end of the season last year still at the end of May.

Yeah at 20yd they aren't sellable! My bird was at 35yd

We have a good bit of birds around this year but they are very tight lipped. They know they've already bred all the hens and it seems like their interest is gone. If they see a decoy they just go the other way

Looks like the season must have been perfect . You did kill one opening day right? Never understood hunters wanting the season earlier. IF the hens are setting the boys will come. From the moment they hit the ground they are looking for a hen. Around here it is tougher when the hens are still feeding every day all day long. Gobblers that are "henned " up are lot harder to kill. Last weekend of the season has always been better for me. Ours comes in Saturday but the smallmouth are biting so turkeys got to wait..

But dang those are some nice birds congrats...

Congrats and nice pics. A few birds starting to fill in in my area, maybe the population will grow.
