There are currently 14 main line Sears stores and 3 K-mart stores left in the continental United States.

This is presumably the last year we see these places in business. Lots of history there , but fading fast.

Spent a lot of time there growing up , I bought a fair amount of their products.

Sad to see the end coming.

Pretty sad. We used to wait to look at the wish book every year to check out what all we wanted for Christmas. Sears and wards both put one out. Craftsman was the poor man's snap on with a lifetime warranty.

Kmart was very dated toward their end around here. I went to a couple Alco stores that were closing a few years ago. Those were even more of a blast from the past. The whole store was 80 percent off and even the shelves were for sale.

Some interesting comments under the video about the shape of the remaining stores and how the inventory is thin in most places. Also one comment states that the K-mart in NJ is about to close in about a week.

Bought alot from Sears, not much from Kmart. We had a Sears in Lewistown until just a year or so ago , hated to see it go.

My Grandad bought his house through Sears close 100 years ago now.

I don'r think Kmart is any great loss.

I still have some off the Craftman carpenter's tools I bought when I joined a framing crew forty-some years ago. Back then they had a Good, Better and Best line of tools.

I see Lowe's has been carrying the Craftman line for a year or more.

When I got my first job, I bought a complete set of craftsman tools w/ box to start from. Still using that box and alot of the tools.

They crushed their competition and didn't think twice about it. Then Walmart came along...Sears and Kmart balked, got what they deserved

I was a K-mart kid back in the day.......jk

Never liked Kmart. They never had what I needed. Sears always seemed overpriced. Not a great loss for me since I never shopped at either very often.

As well as those we had Montgomery Wards, Gaylords, and Trader Horns.
Of them all I used THs most. Don't care for big box stores and they don't care about me lol.

Was always the best bargain store to shop in the Kmart in Thief river Minn, seems they shipped close to the boarder to dump
Seems like ten years ago they closed; sorry to say finely wearing out all the camo pants that I got for 4$
and the 100 Rapala knives that were !$ sold like Hot Cakes at a gun show

Like the dinosaurs, they failed to adapt to a changing environment.

I still have some 22 Long Rifle ammo that I got from K-Mart years ago. $0.89 for a box of 50 Remington Viper ammo.

I still remember in that same K-Mart, a beautiful Remington 552 BDL Pump action 22 rifle. Should have bought it back then. Only $185.95. Who knows what they go for now.

First job was at K-mart and I loved it. So many great memories.

The old cartoon of the line of smaller fish being swallowed up by the next bigger fish in the row comes to mind Walmart was the biggest fish so far.
