If you got the hand strength to pull them apart it might work.

Open the crop, one hand (thumb) on the inside of the back, and the other on the inside of the breast and pull apart.-Might work if they are small enough..Might help to wear work gloves if doing a bunch.

I think it is illegal to feed antibiotic to chickens. All should be antibiotic free.

my great grand parents owned a hatchery , they sold birds to the grocery store

11am the call came in with how many birds over the party line , there was always a bucket of water boiling on the stove , My grandpa talked about how his mother was the fastest hand chicken plucker you have ever seen.

boiling metal bucket of water , she would take the tin cups worth of cold well water from the hand pump to cool down the boil figure about 10-12 ounces then ring necks and get to plucking she would pull wing feathers then run then down her apron as she rubbed and pulled the feathers off get down to her knees back up and down one more time and it was a clean bird toss that in a big bowl and on to the next one from coming out of the water to naked bird he figured about 30 seconds. the driver from the store stopped and picked the cleaned birds up for delivery.

order in before 11am and fresh bird at your door by 2pm.

i built a tub style chicken plucker it does 2 birds in about 30 seconds if you have the scald right

chickens let go of their feathers when they are hot and wet , it releases them quite easily

he told me all this when I built my plucker , she had died when I was about 5-6 my great grandpa lived till I was about 20 and my Grandpa died in 2019

Chicken liver make great catfish bait.

Did you have enough freezer bags ?

I always make sure there is a bottle of Crown Royal as bait for the helpers to come over.....and only when 3/4 done and a designated Driver to pick them up.

Onion skin mesh bag to hold the livers and a 2 fist size clump, so only the big ones can get their mouth around it.
Go BIG bait
or
Don't go out

And if you have any anise oil, you can soak some felt or flannel in it and add that to your hook with the liver...
