I've inherited a good bit of the larger 8oz-16oz medicine bottles that have the childproof lids. Anyone try them for lure/bait storage? Ive tested a few and they seem to be spill proof.

There are different types of child proof lids. The ones I’m familiar with are not easy to open with warm dry fingers. Seems like with cold fingers, they might be impossible to open.

Just a thought, no practical experience.

Many child proof bottles are not water or air proof, which makes them very, very bad for lure storage. Some may be okay though. I would try them with something like water first.

Never used them for lure or bait as I like something with a little more air tight lid. I do use them though for all my components for making Lindy rigs and spinners for fishing. Plenty of uses for the bottles.

I'd have to find a child to help me open it.

They are not child-proof, they are senior citizen proof!

These are the push and turn types.

I've filled these with water, turned em up side down and shaken them. No leaks

Some are threaded on both sides you can just flip them Over and they open the regular way.

I have used them for small tackle and parts. The sun degrades the plastic in a year or so.

you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!

Most trappers couldnt figure out how to open them.

I have a pill bottle that is the perfect size for holding q-tips. I use them for putting lure at sets. One last a couple years so I have excess.
