SGT. C OP trapper S Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 3,223 Midlands South Carolina	I found a guy selling 7 catmaxx cmx-3000b reels and 7'6 mh rods for $250 for all. Are these any good, compared to my abu 6500c3 reels and ugly stick rods. Should i stick to what has worked so far. The old abu's work. They helped me land a 93 pound blue in 2019. Which was released. il.trapper trapper I Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 2,269 West Central Illinois	I use the catmax reels for big catfish and stripers. IMO they are hard to beat. Last ones I bought were 55.00 bucks I think. For the money you can't beat them. Never used the rods, didn't even know they made a catmax rod. I also use, or did use the 6500C abu's, now I only use them for channel catfish and asian carp fishing. They will handle the big cats, but don't have enough drag for my liking.
