850.00 ...Along the road.at a price of 3.00 a dozen or 7 dozen for 20
00.
On Saturday I sold 663.00 worth of ramps by the dozen along the road. The most I've ever sold in a single day.
I went down at 8 with 75 doz and by 915 I was calling Jerry telling him I needed more.
I guess it was a combo of weather...holiday weekend ...and traffic that did it
I sold 187.00. Friday in About an hour and a half.
Saturday I sold from roughly 830 to 4. .
I have orders today also so am gonna set up and sell at 4 or so.
Jerry and the son in law dug yesterday.
We are selling some now ..wholesale..by the pound..to a guy who runs a big farmers market.
He wants 600 to 1000 pounds a week.
I'm on a ramp induced diet.
Too busy to eat while im selling them and too tired to eat when im done selling.
I've lost a pound or 2. My britches are fitting a little better.
Too bad ramp season doesn't last all year long. Lol
Just thought id update in case someones curious how our ramp business is going.
IF IDIOTS GREW ON TREES THIS PLACE WOULD BE AN ORCHARD !

Funny how drinking 8 cups of water a day seems like a lot, but 8 beers in 3 hours goes down like a fat kid on a see-saw.

Any tips on digging?
I usually turn large clumps with a shovel then rinse in a near by creek then separate.

Can people go dig their own rather than buying them?
For folks in town, it is probably cheaper and easier to buy them than dig them.
I’m happy for you - tell Jerry to keep digging!! Around here most people dig their own. They grow all over the place. Years ago when the farmers pastured their cows in the woods, some cows would eat them. Then the milk smelled of onions and the milk plants refused the milk.

Are you in Ripley? Same spot as last year, across from Napa? Yep. Boco Jerry and my son in law is who digs them. We pay him 50 a 5 gallon bucket. My son in law makes a little less but he's slower than Moses. We have a guy in Oh we pay 3.50 a pound.he makes more but he's worth it He's faster Wissmiss people can dig but some people don't wanna get dirty so they buy them from us
