Dad bought this for me when I was 14. 43 years ago.
Have killed a lot of deer over the years with my butt planted on it.
Just pulled it out of a big oak it's been in for about 15 years.
Think I'll retire it. Mostly all ladderstands for me now.
Carried this little seat many miles over the year.

I made one much like that one in my high school welding class years ago. Ugly and heavy but it worked. No clue as to whatever happened to it but I shot some nice deer using it.

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

You need to repurpose that in the front yard where you can see it everyday. Put it on a tree in the yard at chest level and put flowers on it or something.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Built my first portable deer stands similar to that years ago and still use a few of them. They are rock solid when they are in the tree.

Make a jumbo bird feeder out of it. Or put it on the top of a ridge looking down into a cut. Maybe two or three rungs high. Looks like a stable seat.

you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!

Those are old for sure

But fast/super easy to set up.
I when I was a kid, that seat went with me anytime I hunted which was ALLOT!
I got super good at "eyeing" a tree and looking for a limb to stand on and fingerings out if the seat would fit at the right height above it.
Can recall a few times though that the chain was 1 cog short of making it..
Oh man, the memories are starting to flood my mind

smile

Where it's been/seen.

I have a smaller version that’s hinged in the middle to go between a trunk and limb or 2 big limbs.
