Thank you for sharing. I assume the first few pictures are the way they look after the tanning process. And the ones with various colors are after they are dyed.

The place that did mine explained that the tail lost it's natural color during the tanning process and they offered 16 colors of dye to choose from. I had all of mine done the same color.

I am interested in your tanning method also.

It's a long process. If I was fluent in English, I could tell you the secret. It's the way leather was made 200 years ago.

Here we go again. I haven't said anything yet, and some people already have their suspicions.

I've written before that in the mid-90's I was a professional furrier. fur tanning and leather tanning are two different things. making leather is much more difficult. the whole process takes 5-6 days. it requires a lot of ingredients and chemistry. i just know it all and it was not very difficult for me. for a beginner it will be difficult. are there people among you who want to learn it?

KOSOI, I don't have the time to learn, but i sure enjoy seeing your results and how people make their leather products.

I had some super blanket beaver plucked and sheared , and a talented furrier make a most beautiful coat and matching scarf for me some years ago. The company , in Canada, who hand plucked the pelts were very generous in letting me know generally how they did it, with of course still keeping their time honored secrets in some details to themselves.

At very least, I enjoy seeing photos of your work.
