I have found octopus to be tough if you don’t do it right. If you blanch it the skin and suckers peel right off. Frozen it’s easy to slice very thin then marinade and grill. Pickled it’s tender and my favorite is light smoked and canned

Both squid and octopus should only be cooked for a very short time, or they will become tough. I usually cook calamari for about 2 1/2 minutes.

I see the Board of Fish just took some action on squid, defined some gear etc. I saw some pretty good sized dead ones on the bottom of the Seward harbor in the fall pretty sure they came in on their own there weren't many guys still fishing and they were spread out so it didn't look like somebody had thrown out their unused bait.

you can vote your way into socialism, but you will have to shoot your way out.

That’s interesting. I have heard a little about guys out of Valdez catching them with a multi hooked jig, glow in the dark, at very deep depths
