Who's ever shot a turkey whether it's been in spring gobbler season or fall turkey season and had the turkey flopping around on the ground? Every time it's ever happened to me the other turkey's come running over to flog the dying bird. So my thought is why doesn't a company that make decoys make a decoy that flops around imitating a dying bird.

I think a guy could take one of the kids/dog toy that called a bumble ball and put it inside a Jake decoy plus add a turkey wing attached to it. It would be awesome if they could make a remote control to be able to turn it on once the turkeys see it to drawl them in close. [Linked Image]

It might just be a million dollar idea. What are your thoughts?

The old turkey men would crap a brick if they knew what had become of turkey hunting.

First rule, if you didn't call it you didn't earn it.

My thought is turkeys have a pecking order, so the responds would be way different.

You know, that’s not a bad idea….I’ve seen it happen a lot. However, it might be a proximity thing. Every time I’ve seen it happen, the other gobblers were traveling with the one I shot and very close to it when it went down. I’m not sure that a flopping decoy would bring a bird from any distance.

Btw, I also have a blow horn in my turkey vest that I sometimes use as a last resort on those extra tough days!

That would be interesting to try, but would be a no go in PA since we're not allowed to use electronic devices while turkey hunting.

This gobbler I killed two years ago is pretty typical in his death flopping. I don't know if the Bumble Ball could imitate that.

Eh...wot?

Primos made one a few years back called the Dirty B injured tom decoy.

It was basically a decoy that laid flat on the ground and by pulling a cord the fan and the wings flopped a little bit.

Evidently it didn't sell to good as it wasn't on the market very long.
